Chinese space threat ( Charles Harlan )
There is a lot written by various pundits about the Chinese being decades behind us in HSF technology at this point and they urge us not to worry. I can remember when the U.S. was way behind the old Soviet Union and surprise - look at how fast we caught up and surpassed them. Now that we are basically sitting still, we may stand to be surprised with regard to our relative status with China because they are not sitting still. For us we are going backwards with HSF spacecraft technology (Orion) with the capsule design. For us it is not technology, rather it is the national will to stay in the game!
