Subject: After the Space Launch System

Gary,

NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) has a very uncertain future.  Therefore, it is prudent to plan for what should follow the SLS. A group of "Concerned American Aerospace Engineers" has concluded that the commercial retrieval of lunar and deep space natural resources should be the long term goal of the next space transportation endeavor. To accomplish that goal requires the development of a space shuttle and space based vehicles. This commercial approach provides a near term competitive launch system for civil and military applications and a strategic roadmap for the long term development of deep space transportation.

As a valued member of the aerospace community, your review and contributions to the attached draft of the "Space Transportation for the 21st Century" would be very much appreciated.  As you are aware, reducing the operational cost is the driving factor in the viability of any future space transportation.
